Dundee Hills is where Oregon Pinot was born — David Lett's Eyrie Vineyards and the Drouhin family's Domaine Drouhin both planted here ^[1]. The sub-AVA was established in 2004 to recognize the distinctive Jory volcanic soils that produce structured, age-worthy Pinot Noir ^[2].
